Add 1 ½ teaspoons salt, basil, oregano, and ¼ teaspoon black pepper and season. Bring it to a simmer uncovered for 10 minutes.
Step 3:
In a separate large bowl, mix the Parmesan cheese, egg, Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon salt, and ¼ teaspoon black pepper. Add hot sausage, mild sausage, bread crumbs and 1 cup tomato sauce mixture, mixing until well combined.
Step 4:
Using a piping bag or sausage stuffer, fill each pepper with sausage mixture. Arrange in a 3-quart casserole dish; pour reserved tomato sauce mixture over peppers.
